The content ranges from concrete, specific guidelines to overarching legal and ethical principles that guide clinical decision making. For the sake of simplicity, the course will mostly refer to psychotherapists throughout, but case managers and other mental health professionals are also intended readers of this information.
The course begins with a review of important ethical principles that underlie clinical decision-making. The next two ections delve into two of the most critical areas: confidentiality and boundaries.
