The toolkit includes basic information about what an overdose is and common substances that can cause overdose. It describes medications that can be used to reverse opioid overdoses. It then outlines steps that should be taken when witnessing and responding to an overdose. A second article discusses research that psychologists are currently engaging in to support an increase in the number of overdose prevention sites. It also briefly describes other harm reduction initiatives being implemented in the United States.
